Jonathan Martin has nearly 20 years of experience guiding dentists and dental specialists
through the transition process. Since joining the McGill & Hill group in 2005, he has
helped over 1,000 dentists successfully transition their practices, whether bringing in a
partner and selling a fractional interest, to selling 100% of their practice to another
doctor, to affiliating with a DSO. Jonathan has overseen more than $1 billion of dental
practices sales, ranging from modest one-doctor practices to large multi doctor, multi
location group practices.
Jonathan is also an experienced speaker, having presented to hundreds of audiences
across the country at large national meetings such as the AAO and Hinman, as well as
smaller state and local dental association meetings and study clubs.
Jonathan earned bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance, and a Master of
Accountancy degree, both from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina
Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Jonathan lives in Gastonia, NC with his wife, Elka, and two of his three children, Huck
and Julep, while his oldest son, Wyatt, lives and works in Asheville, NC. Jonathan
enjoys spending time with his family traveling, biking, kayaking, and relaxing in the
mountains of western North Carolina.
Brent advises business owners on all aspects of accounting, finance, tax, operational strategy and best practices. Brent’s proactive and hands-on approach has built long-lasting relationships and trust with his clients. Dr. Wardah Inam is the Co-Founder and CEO of Overjet. Overjet is the leading provider of AI technology for the dental industry to help improve patient care.
Prior to founding Overjet, she led product development at a healthcare startup, Q Bio, working on biomedical imaging. Before that, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab where she worked on remote biomedical sensing using machine learning on wireless signals.
Dr. Inam received a PhD from MIT, where she developed AI-powered microgrid technology. This work received widespread recognition including National Geographic covering it as a breakthrough that could transform the way we power the world. She has corporate experience in GE and Apple and is the recipient of the MIT Graduate Women of Excellence Award.
Dr. Inam has been ranked among the 32 most influential people in dentistry by Incisal Edge, listed by Inc. Magazine as one of the Top 100 Female Founders, and received the Shils Innovator Award in 2022. She is also a member of the Santa Fe Group’s Strategic Advisory Council, a think tank that advocates for better dental services.
Eyal Simchi, DDS, is the owner of Riverfront Pediatric Dentistry and is a dentist who does things differently. His combination of minimally invasive dental techniques as well as his innovative
behavior management style has made him a trailblazer in the field of pediatric dentistry. His use
of SDF has been featured in The New York times and his magic tricks have been shown on NBC
Nightly News as well as the Kelly Clarkson show. Dr Simchi is a sought-after lecturer and is
frequently consulted by dentists around the world for difficult cases in pediatric dentistry. He is
a contributing author to SMART oral health: the medical management of caries as well as the
textbook on Behavior management in dentistry for children.
Dr. Jeanette MacLean is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, owner of Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists in Glendale, Arizona, and mother of two. She received her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California in 2003 and completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2005 at Sunrise Children’s Hospital through the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. MacLean has become an internationally recognized advocate and expert on minimally invasive dentistry.
Dr. Hector Vila received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1989 and completed a 3-year residency in Anesthesia at the University of South Florida, where he received 12 months of advanced training in Pediatric Anesthesia. At graduation he was the recipient of the Dripps Award for outstanding resident. He was certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1994.
Dr. Hector Vila is nationally renowned for his work to improve the quality of care in ambulatory and office based anesthesia. He served as chair of the South Carolina Medical Association Taskforce for Office Surgery Guidelines. He was lead author of the study, “A Comparative Outcomes Analysis of Procedures Performed in Physician Offices and Ambulatory Surgery Centers”. Abstracts of this study received international awards and attracted national media attention. He was quoted in US News and World Report, CNN, Good Morning America, and numerous other media. He is considered an expert in the area of patient safety. Dr. Vila has been voted to the Best Doctors in America list every year since 2005.
Dr. Patel attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH earning a BA in Medical Anthropology. She went to dental school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where she met her husband, Dr. Michael Hosking (an Endodontist). Realizing that treating pediatric and special needs patients was her passion; she completed a 1 year hospital based residency in Madison, WI followed by a 2-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and concurrently completed a Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas at Houston. In 2023 Dr. Patel became the FAPD President as well as she and her husband were selected for the 40 under 40 dentists in the US.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with husband, their adorable son and daughter, and going on walks with their fur baby (Nemo), cooking/eating international cuisine, dancing and running. She is classically trained in a few styles of Indian dance and loves supporting the arts and cultural activities.
Dr. Patrick Ruck, DDS is a board-certified pediatric dentist and full-time assistant professor of dentistry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the epidermolysis bullosa dentist at CCHMC and works part time in private office in the Cincinnati community.
Previously, Patrick was in full time practice at Cherokee Indian Hospital with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian in Cherokee, North Carolina and at Tséhootsooí Medical Center with the Navajo Nation while serving in the National Health Service Corps.
Patrick’s research and practice interests are in dental materials, integration of new materials/procedures with hospital dental programs and hospital pediatric dentistry populations. He enjoys all aspects of pediatric and general dentistry.
He resides in Cincinnati with his wife Magdalena, daughter Carolina, son Winston, and two dogs Waffles and Maple Syrup.
Lauren is a business consultant and coach who helps pediatric dentists grow revenue, boost office morale, and create loyal patients. She began her career as the Head Dance Coach for the University of Florida Gators, igniting her passion for coaching, and later spent years training dental and medical offices. In 2019, she launched her own business, focused on pediatric dentistry, giving her the freedom to create engaging, results-driven programs that help practices thrive. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Business Marketing, she later earned a Master’s in Business Management from Harvard’s Extension School, learning from top business minds in leadership, strategy, and organizational behavior—insights she applies to her coaching. Lauren is also a dedicated wife and mom to three young boys, balancing a busy, fun-filled home with her passion for helping business owners succeed in both work and life.
