Dr. Johnson received her doctorate from the University of Tennessee and completed a 3-year pediatric dental residency and master’s at the University of North Carolina. Being a wife, mother, and pediatric dentist brings her immense joy. Dr. Johnson founded Carolina Pediatric Dentistry in 2002 to centralize her family life and provide a dental home for all children.
She has opened multiple office locations, served as the President of the ABPD, teaches at ECU, and is a leader for Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgical Centers. Dr. Johnson is passionate about access to care for all children, raising the bar in efficient and excellent clinical care, and living life to the fullest. She is a certified yoga instructor and has completed many endurance races.
Dr. Kalaskey is a pediatric dentist who believes children embody the best of our world. She enjoys staying current with new technologies and materials to provide top care. Recently, she moved to Winston-Salem to be near her fiancé, Steven, and began her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Dr. Kalaskey has completed aerial yoga and sound bath training and finds joy in yoga's calming environment. She hopes to share this peacefulness with her fellow dentists.
Dr. Ann Bynum, a seasoned pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, brings close to three decades of expertise to her practice in Simpsonville, South Carolina. After completing her dental training at the University of Iowa and a pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Bynum established her practice in 1997. An active member in leadership with the AAPD and the ABPD, she has
published and lectured widely on topics such as customer service, health and wealth, marketing, leadership, and airway health in pediatric patients. Dr. Bynum is dedicated to advancing pediatric dentistry and is a passionate advocate for enhancing practice management and providing optimum oral health care to kids.
Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified pediatric dentist and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She received her dental training at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry and completed her pediatric dentistry residency training at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She currently practices alongside a team of incredible pediatric dentists at Carolina Pediatric Dentistry in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is Dr. Nguyen’s goal to meet every child where they are, help them feel comfortable and at ease, and provide quality, compassionate dental care. There is nothing more fulfilling than being able to help a child overcome their fears and cultivate their resilience and confidence!
Dr Vargas was born in Lima, Peru and graduated as a pediatric dentist from Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York, in 1992. She received a PhD in 1998 and taught for 10 years at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She has been in private practice for over 15 years and has served on numerous national and international pediatric dentistry committees and organizations.
Dr Vargas became Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry in 2000 and served for six years on the board of directors of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of multiple professional organizations and has written numerous articles and book chapters pertaining to many aspects of pediatric dentistry, including sedation and treatment of the pulp in primary and permanent teeth. She has also lectured both nationally and internationally on those same topics. Dr Vargas currently practices alongside her daughter, Cecilia, an amazing team and two of her dogs in Marion, Iowa
Dr. Fehlinger received her doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and holds a board certification from the American Board of General Dentistry. She served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a general dentist after dental school, during which she completed both a 1 year and 2 year AEGD with emphasis on esthetic dentistry, periodontal surgery and oral surgery. Dr. Fehlinger holds a Master of Science in Oral Biology and Master of Science in Dentistry degree. She completed her pediatric dentistry training at the University of Washington before moving to Raleigh, NC. She believes in providing dental care with children’s future smiles in mind, so those little smiles continue to stay healthy and shine bright!
